Justify

Justify by ~typotypical on deviantART

Well last year in psychology class, we were assigned a project to research mental health issues. We formed groups of three and each group picked a 3 random cards: Income, Insured/un-insured, and Mental Health Problem.

Our goal was to find as much information on the Mental Health Problem as we could then, to look up health care insurance which would cover the expenses of the mental problem. Needless to say, health care insurance for mental issues is very limited, extremely pricey.

After the project was over (about 2 months after), i got to thinking, "Why don't we have better health care for mental disabilities?" I mean aside from the obvious cost involved and the fact that most of these illnesses can not be "cured" shouldn't insurance companies at least provided you with care up to a certain time frame? what about evaluations of need? Do they simply not want to deal with the hassle of dealing with the mentally ill? would they rather just keep out of it? why?
